Sustainable for nature

Arborea Factory is born from the common passion of the founding members for the design of innovative and sustainable economic systems. In a constantly evolving world where environmental issues are paramount, it is now clear that people, the environment, and the economy are all part of the same process.

With a lasting commitment to our planet, we are dedicated to planting Paulownia trees for reforestation projects and responsible forest management, aimed at producing high-quality timber

The strength of our project lies precisely in the intrinsic characteristics of the plant itself: Paulownia is capable of self-regeneration, maintaining the goal of reforesting and consequently avoiding the cutting of native trees from a perspective of preserving biodiversity, introducing the concept of sustainable and enduring economy.

Thanks to our expertise along the entire production chain, we provide customized solutions for every need: ten years of study, experimental research, and industrial research on the processing of Paulownia wood have led us to be the first Italian company capable of managing a process of planting, wood collection, processing, and sale of Paulownia and its derivatives. This wood is then destined for the production of semi-finished products for the industry, which can be used for the production of finished products. Arborea Factory continues to invest in collaboration with industrial partners for the study of Paulownia wood and its applications in the market, considering the versatility and characteristics of this natural material. We combine passion, technical skills, and work ethic to offer tailor-made projects based on specific needs, pursuing a perspective of circularity and sustainability that allows our partners to start a process that provides a vision of continuity over the years, creating a system capable of ensuring lasting work and economic return. Wood

Sustainability

Every plant absorbs 21 kg of CO2 per day, 10.4 tons in 20 years (10 times the capacity of any other plant);

Excellent capabilities for purifying contaminated soils and waters;

Certified sterility;

Prevents soil erosion.

Resistance to mold and bacteria attacks;

High flammability point (420°);

Specific weight lower by 40% compared to commonly used hardwoods: 380 Kg/m3;

Known as the “aluminum of wood” for its lightness, flexibility, and resistance.

Origin: Asia, Mainland China

Lifespan: 60 years in nature, certified 26 years for forestry;

Growth: 3 growth cycles in 19 years;

Habitat: between 40°N latitude and up to 2,000 meters of altitude.

The clone

Features

We are able to ensure 3 production cycles in 19 years, with trees that have no knots and holes for more than 80% of the trunk, if cultivated correctly. The plant can reach diameters ranging from 30 to 50/60 cm depending on the intended use and harvesting times.

The Class A wood can be used to create products ranging from lumber to plywood, from chipboard to MDF, which in turn find their place in the world of interior design, nautical industry, carpentry, and so on.

Thanks to decades of study and numerous experiments, we have developed two clones of Paulownia capable of producing wood specifically for industrial use.

Firstly, the clone is sterile as it is a hybrid and the cultivation in micropropagation is developed by the nurseries we collaborate with; a sterility certificate is always provided to our partners. Generally, the plant does not require pesticides.

It withstands temperatures ranging from -15° to +40°; the optimal temperature for rapid growth of Paulownia is between +10° and +30°.
